Legal
Privacy Policy
Effective date: 1 January 2026
GeoPulse respects your privacy. This policy explains what data is collected when you use the GeoPulse website and mobile application.
1. Data We Do Not Collect
GeoPulse does not require account registration. We do not collect your name, email address, location, or any personally identifiable information through the website.
2. Analytics
The website is hosted on GitHub Pages. GitHub may collect standard server logs (IP address, browser type, referring URL) as described in the GitHub Privacy Statement. GeoPulse itself does not run additional analytics scripts.
3. Mobile App
The GeoPulse mobile app fetches publicly available news data from our feed. If push notifications are enabled, your device token is used solely to deliver news alerts and is not shared with third parties. We use Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) to send notifications; see the Firebase Privacy Policy for details.
4. Cookies and Local Storage
The website uses browser localStorage only to remember your theme preference (dark/light mode). No tracking cookies are set.
5. Third-Party Content
Articles link to third-party news sites. Those sites have their own privacy policies which we do not control.
6. Changes
We may update this policy. The effective date above reflects the most recent revision.
